The lives of poor ordinary Vincentians are expected to improve further after the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this morning with the Republic of India.
The Prime Minister thanked the Government and people of the Republic of India and in particular Prime Minister Modi whom he said has a hand on the pulse of the people and just like him “has a profound commitment to helping the poor and marginalized and those who suffer from particular hardship and discrimination.”
Meanwhile, H.E. Mahender Singh Kanyal said that SVG and the Republic of India have very good relations which have been strengthened after the official visit of PM Gonsalves to that country in September this year. The Ambassador said that the two countries are expected to sign more MOUs in the areas of health, traditional systems of medicines, and cultural programs among other areas. He assured Pm Gonsalves that India will be opened to consider any other requests under the Technical Development Partnership for Projects concerning infrastructure and any other projects that fall in the line of national priorities for the government of SVG.
